Introduction

  • The College of Communication was established in 2010. It incorporates the Graduate Institute of Mass Communication, the Department of Journalism & Communication Studies, the Department of Communication Arts, Department of Advertising and Public Relations, the Postgraduate School of Mass Communication, the Media and Instructional Resources Center, as well as the internship radio station "Voice of Fu Jen Catholic University."
  •  Fu Jen University has 40 years of history teaching in communication studies, and raising education-minded media talent who possess both holistic educational concepts and professional discipline for the purpose of education.
  • Currently our department caters to 1,200 students, and each year we recruit roughly 300 undergraduate students, and 40 graduate students. Over the years we have seen over 10,000 graduate alumni go on to be successful in areas such as the newspaper industry, periodicals, broadcasting, advertising, movies, multimedia, advertising, marketing, public relations, and academic research.
1971The Department of Mass Communication was founded, with journalism, radio and television, and advertising as its focus.
1972The construction of Tonelli Hall was completed.
The Department of Mass Communication was also founded in the Evening Division.
1981The Department of Mass Communication doubled the number of student admission, which was divided into two classes.
1982The Department of Mass Communication activated two tracks of education: Class A concentrates on journalism, magazine, radio, and drama while Class B on television, movie, advertising, and photography.
1983The Graduate Institute of Mass Communication was founded.
1984The Department of Mass Communication was divided into 3 groups: Literal Communication, Image Communication, and Advertising & Public Relations.
1986The 3 groups were re-named as Journalism, Radio & Television, and Advertising.
1995The Radio & Television group was officially elevated to today’s Department of Communication Arts.
1997The groups of Journalism and Advertising were respectively elevated to today’s Department of Journalism & Communication Studies and Department of Advertising & Public Relations.
1997The Media and Instructional Resources Center was founded.
2001Voice of Fu Jen Catholic University, an experimental radio station, was established.
2006The Graduate Institute of Mass Communication offered an on-the-job training program.The Department of Mass Communication in the Extension Education Division doubled its number of student admission, which was divided into two classes.
2010The College of Communication was founded.The Department of Mass Communication in the Extension Education Division was transformed into the Bachelor Program of Mass Communication.
2017International Research & Development Center of the College of Communication is established
